Introducing

Keith Dredge

Your Labour candidate for the Worth Valley in the 2008 local elections

Keith Dredge

I have lived in the Worth Valley since 1989. During that time I have taken an active part in the community and am well known, in the Worth Valley, for my work in Hall Green Baptist Chapel, Haworth. I am involved with the Keighley Trades Union Council as well as the Keighley Branch of my trade union, Unite.

I invite you to browse my website in order to find out what I have to offer the Worth Valley Ward once elected to the Council. I also invite you to have your say, to get in touch and tell me of the issues that concern you in the villages of Oakworth, Stanbury, Crossroads and Haworth. I intend to make your concerns known to the Council, making sure that the Worth Valley receives its fair share of funding and resources from Bradford Council and most importantly I desire to see an equality of opportunity for all people in this area whatever gender or race they may happen to be.

People have expressed to me their concerns about the way in which Bradford Council, led by my Conservative opponent, have disposed of valuable assets such as the Leeds/Bradford Airpot. The money raise from the sale of the airport has been 'invested' in local comunity projects just in time for the local governemtn elections of 2008. The Conservatives are, in effect, bribing the electorate with money from a one off sale of a facility that belonged to the people of this area. Mr Hopkins and his colleques are guilty of selling the family silver. If elected I would fight against the squander of publically owned assets and make sure that they couod be run by, and for, the people of this area. The Worth Valley Party are keen to see long-term and sustainable development throughout the Bradford Area, making sure that a fair share of such investment is made in the Worth Valley.
